Returns & Refunds

Your right to cancel (online orders)

If you bought from us online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. To cancel, email us at info@funkychairinteriors.co.uk with your order number. Once you have told us, you have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.

We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or of you showing us they have been sent). Refunds are made to the original payment method.

Who pays to send it back

You are responsible for the cost of returning goods to us, unless the item is faulty or was sent in error.

For large items delivered by our two-person delivery service (sofas, dining sets, large furniture), return collection is arranged through our supplier and typically costs between £60 and £130, depending on size and weight. We will confirm the exact cost with you before arranging collection.

Goods must be returned unused, in their original packaging, and in a resaleable condition. You have a duty to take reasonable care of them while they are in your possession. If the value of the goods is reduced because you have handled them beyond what is necessary to examine them, we may reduce your refund accordingly.

Items that cannot be cancelled or returned

The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to goods that are made to your specification or are clearly personalised. This includes:

  • Paints mixed to order. Every M&L Paints tin is mixed to your chosen colour and finish at the time you order. Once mixed it cannot be resold, and cannot be returned or refunded unless it is faulty.
  • Bespoke headboards, upholstery and made-to-measure work, which is made to your size, style and fabric.
  • Sample and tester pots, once opened.

Please order a tester pot before committing to a full tin — that is exactly what they are for, and they are delivered free.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Please check your order on the day it arrives. If anything is damaged, missing or incorrect, tell us within 48 hours of delivery, including photographs of the damage and the packaging.
If a parcel looks damaged while the driver is still with you, please refuse it, or sign for it as damaged.

This is separate from, and in addition to, your cancellation right. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  • Damaged in transit: tell us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs. Large items arrive with a two-person crew — please inspect the item before they leave wherever you can.
  • Faulty goods: if an item is faulty, contact us. Within 30 days of delivery you have the right to reject it for a full refund. After 30 days we will repair or replace it.
  • Wrong item sent: we will collect it and put it right at no cost to you.

We pay all costs, including collection, for goods that are faulty, damaged, or supplied in error.

Bought in our Hexham shop

Goods bought in person are not covered by the 14-day distance-selling right, which applies to online orders only. We are happy to discuss an exchange on unused, unopened items, but this is at our discretion. This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty.
